You have another $20 to work with if you furnish outpatient Part B therapy to patients in their homes. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced the 2016 therapy cap will be $1,960 for physical therapy (PT) and speech-language pathology (SLP) combined, and $1,960 for occupational therapy (OT). That’s up from $1,940 in 2015.
The outpatient therapy cap exceptions process (using the KX modifier) and manual medical review (MMR) will continue at the $3,700 threshold for PT and SLP services combined, which were extended through Dec. 31, 2017, notes the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) on its website.
