Question: The active polio virus is no longer being used. With what products would we use 90467 or +90468? Washington Subscriber Answer: Administration of intranasal and oral products fall under 90467 (Immunization administration younger than age 8 years [includes intranasal or oral routes of administration] when the physician counsels the patient/family; first administration [single or combination vaccine/toxoid], per day) and +90468 (&each additional administration [single or combination vaccine/toxoid], per day [List separately in addition to code for primary procedure]). Some of these include: Beware: To use 90467 or +90468, the physician (or nurse practitioner/physician assistant) must provide counseling on the same day of the intranasal or oral vaccine administration on a child less than eight years of age.
