Pediatric Coding Alert

Correction:

RLQ Goes to 789.03, LLQ Goes to 789.04

Go online for your updated abdominal pain diagram. In Pediatric Coding Alert, vol. 12, no. 6, the diagram of the abdomen reversed the bottom two quadrants and their identifying ICD-9 codes. Thanks to an astute reader for catching that the ICD-9 code for the RLQ- Right Lower Quadrant is incorrectly listed as 789.04 and the LLQ- Left Lower Quadrant is incorrectly listed as 789.03. The arrows should have instead indicated the RLQ- Right Lower Quadrant as 789.03 and the LLQ- Left Lower Quadrant as 789.04.
