An overview can be worth 1,000 words when you’re trying to understand a host of complex changes. Study the following chart to make sure you can put the CPT® 2015 changes in context as you implement the new and revised codes for your lab.
For instance: Looking at the big picture, you can see that a new drug test coding paradigm involves deleting scores of codes from the current CPT® sections for drug screening, therapeutic drug assays, and chemistry. The new drug test coding structure also involves adding two new CPT® sections: one for presumptive drug screening and one for definitive drug testing.
