Don't Miss These 2006 CPT Pathology and Lab Code Changes

You won't get paid for deleted codes after Jan. 1

Starting Jan. 1, you won't use Category III code 0010T for a gamma interferon TB test anymore. Instead, you'll use new CPT 86480 with the same definition-- Tuberculosis test, cell mediated immunity measurement of gamma interferon antigen response.

You'll find that change, plus more than 40 other code additions, deletions and revisions, in the following chart. To avoid denials in 2006, you should use this chart to quickly master the changes, from chemistry to cytology, that impact your lab coding. Save the chart to use as a handy reference tool throughout the year.
