October 1 is already in the rear-view mirror, which means you should be using diagnosis codes from the 2011 edition of the ICD-9 manual. Medicare payers will not accept outdated ICD-9 codes, so be sure that you are up-to-date on which codes were removed effective Oct. 1 and which were added or revised.
To get a rundown of diagnosis code changes, check out our ondemand webinar, "ICD-9 Changes for 2011," presented by our Part B Insider's editor Torrey Kim, MA, CPC, CGSC. Visit www.audioeducator.com/conference-ICD-9-Changes-for-2011for details.
