Question:Which CPT code would you use if your physician is performing excision of a nasal mass? Pennsylvania Subscriber Answer:The answer depends on the method of entry. Select from the following: • 30117 (Excision or destruction [e.g., laser],intranasal lesion; internal approach) for an internalapproach • 30118 (Excision or destruction [e.g., laser],intranasal lesion; external approach [lateralrhinotomy]) for an external approach • 31237Nasal/sinus endoscopy, surgical; with biopsy,polypectomy or debridement [separate procedure]),if it is done endoscopically.
