Question: What is the correct code for robotic resection of the base of the tongue?

Answer: What you’re really coding for is a partial glossectomy, which is reported with 41120 (Glossectomy; less than one-half tongue). Seeing “robotic” in the documentation simply refers to the surgical instrument and technique, not the procedure itself. We code what was done irrespective of the instruments used.
