Question: Our surgeon performed an open posterior deltoid repair of the shoulder. Which code should I report for this procedure?

Answer: Because the deltoid is a muscle in the upper arm, you should report 24341 (Repair, tendon or muscle, upper arm or elbow, each tendon or muscle, primary or secondary [excludes rotator cuff]) when the physician repairs the deltoid as an open procedure.
