Question: How does one report if the surgeon does 'arthroscopic removal of an acromial spur, manipulation under anesthesia and rotator cuff repair' in the shoulder?Maryland SubscriberAnswer: You report 23700 (Manipulation under anesthesia, shoulder joint, including application of fixation apparatus (dislocation excluded) for the manipulation done in the shoulder joint. You report 29827 (Arthroscopy, shoulder, surgical; with rotator cuff repair) for the rotator cuff repair and 29826 (Arthroscopy, shoulder, surgical; decompression of subacromial space with partial acromioplasty, with or without coracoacromial release) -51 for the removal of spur. You do not report 27300 in addition to 29826 or 29827 as manipulation is inclusive.
