Correction:

Report 26356 for FPL Repair

In our March 2006 reader question -Include Volar Plate Repair in CPT 26370 - we advised that you should report 26370 (Repair or advancement of profundus tendon, with intact superficialis tendon; primary, each tendon) for a flexor pollicus longus (FPL) repair. That advice was wrong. In fact, the correct code for repair of the FPL tendon is 26356 (Repair or advancement, flexor tendon, in zone 2 digital flexor tendon sheath [e.g., no-man's land]; primary, without free graft, each tendon).

If you repair the flexor digitorum profundus (FDP) with an intact flexor digitorum superficialis (FDS), you should report 26370. We apologize for the error.
