Answer: 66985 (Insertion of intraocular lens prosthesis [secondary implant], not associated with concurrent cataract removal) may be performed for a dislocated lens. A few diagnosis codes that may support performance of this surgical procedure are as follows:

  • 379.33 -- Anterior dislocation of lens
  • 379.34 -- Posterior dislocation of lens
  • 743.36 -- Anomalies of lens shape (microphakia, spherophakia)
  • 996.53 -- Mechanical complications of other specified prosthetic device, implant and graft; due to ocular lens prosthesis.
