Visual Field Testing Codes

Ophthalmologists billing National Health Information Center (NHIC) for visual field testing can now use 377.01 (papilledema associated with increased intracranial pressure), 348.2 (benign intracranial hypertension) and 239.7 (endocrine glands and other parts of nervous system) in addition to previously existing diagnosis codes. Coverage for these three diagnoses is added with LMRP 9639R1, effective Jan. 1, 2001.
