Answer: Your ICD-9 manual doesn't offer a specific code for the genetic mutation, but you may code the condition or symptoms related to the mutation.

Depending on your documentation, the appropriate codes may include:

- V26.3x--Genetic counseling and testing
- V26.4--Genetic counseling and advice
- V83.89--Other genetic carrier status
- V84.8--Genetic susceptibility to other disease.
