READER QUESTIONS:

Consistency Is Key to Plan Coding Date

Question: Should I charge for computer generated treatment plans on the day of the printout or the day the physician signs the plan? Pennsylvania Subscriber Answer: You-re unlikely to find authoritative guidelines on this question. But your facility can create a policy so you date these charges in a consistent manner. The print date is the most common date for plan billing. The physician has already approved the electronic version of the plan, and it is -finalized- when it prints.
