Use This Code for Testicular Pain

Question: If a provider documents that a patient has testicular pain, do I use N50.82? Hawaii Subscriber Answer: If the provider has documented testicular pain, you would not use N50.82 (Scrotal pain). Pain in the scrotum is not the same as pain in the testicles, which is why scrotal pain has its own unique code. For testicular pain, you’ll use either N50.811 (Right testicular pain) and/or N50.812 (Left testicular pain) if your provider has specified the particular testicle, or N50.819 (Testicular pain, unspecified) if your provider has not specified the side.
