Question: Can we charge for more than one 77014 when doing Intensity modulated radiotherapy for multiple sites on the same day in the same session?

Answer: ASTRO states that even though multiple sites are being treated, only one unit of 77418 (Intensity modulated treatment delivery, single or multiple fields/arcs, via narrow spatially and temporally modulated beams, binary, dynamic MLC, per treatment session) may be reported.
There is no guidance that states you cannot bill for multiple units of 77014 (Computed tomography guidance for placement of radiation therapy fields) during IMRT treatment delivery. In the event multiple sites are being treated on the same day in the same session, multiple units of 77014 may be reported as long as separate shifts/images are being reviewed and approved by the radiation oncologist.
