R97.2 Takes the Place of 790.93 for Elevated PSA

ICD-9-CM: Current ICD-9-CM reporting options for a PSA test include V76.44 (Special screening for malignant neoplasms; prostate) and 790.93 (Elevated prostate specific antigen [PSA]).ICD-10-CM difference: When ICD-10-CM replaces ICD-9-CM, you'll still have one screening diagnosis code and one elevated PSA diagnosis code. When the physician orders a screening PSA test for a patient with no signs or symptoms of disease, screening code V76.44 is the appropriate code under ICD-9-CM.
