Know service level, delivery method before coding When you're reporting prostate brachytherapy treatment, you must know the delivery method and the level of treatment intensity.

Help your office keep things straight by posting this list of CPT codes to use with different prostate brachytherapy treatments. This chart will help you when you're wondering how many levels of service exist for interstitial radiation source application. (There are three, by the way.) 1. Report liquid radioactive sources with 77750  (Infusion or instillation of radioelement solution [includes three months follow-up care]).
 
2. Report interstitial radiation source application with one of these:
  77776 - Interstitial radiation source application; simple
  77777 - ... intermediate
  77778 - ... complex.

3. Report brachytherapy with ultrasound with 76965 (Ultrasonic guidance for interstitial radioelement application).
