Follicle-Stimulating Hormone

Question: Is there a screening diagnostic code for follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH)?

Answer: Unless you can find out why the physician needed the result of the FSH test (because this is not a routine screening test), V77.9 (special screening for other and unspecified endocrine, nutritional, metabolic, and immunity disorders) is your best bet. But if you know why the test was ordered, e.g., menopause suspected, or if she is being tested because of infertility problems or amenorrhea, the diagnosis would change accordingly based on her symptoms.
