Test Your OASIS Savvy ... Q: Can the team caring for a patient complete the OASIS assessment jointly? A: No. This common myth can cause your agency all kinds of trouble during medical reviews or surveys, experts say. Since the comprehensive OASIS assessment is part of the legal documentation for that patient, it is the responsibility of a single clinician, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services notes in the OASIS Implementation Manual. That doesn't mean she can't discuss concerns or questions with other team members, but the admitting clinician should enter any changes, explains consultant Pam Warmack with Clinic Connections in Ruston, LA.
