Question: Our neurosurgeon did a VP shunt revision (62230) and placed a wound vac. Can we code for the wound vac when it was not done through a separate incision?Arizona SubscriberAnswer: Code 62230 (Replacement or revision of cerebrospinal fluid shunt, obstructed valve, or distal catheter in shunt system) is inclusive of the wound vac, which would not be separately reportable.
