Question: Which diagnosis code should I use for a resolved seizure? Virginia Subscriber Answer: If the patient has a history of seizures -quot; but doesn't experience them anymore -quot; you can generally code this as V12.4x (Disorders of nervous system and sense organs). Don't forget: Always check for the fifth digit when coding for disorders of the nervous system and sense organs. Reporting without a fifth digit when it's available can cause payers to deny your claim.
