Question: Medicare is denying our claims with codes 95910 and 95911, saying that we must bill the service with a guidance code. Can you please help me with that?

Answer: CPT® codes 95910 and 95911 are for nerve conduction studies (7-8 studies and 9-10 studies, respectively). These two codes cannot be billed together on same date of service, so verify that you’re only reporting one code from this range (95907-95913), based on the number of nerves tested.
We are not aware of any guidance update from Medicare. Please ask your Medicare representative to provide the policy or documentation with the billing guidelines for this scenario so you can correct your mistake.
