Dupuytren's Contracture Defined

Look to 728.6 for diagnosis. In Dupuytren's contracture (728.6, Contracture of palmar fascia), the patient experiences a thickening and contracture of tissues beneath the skin in the palmar surface of his hand and fingers. One or multiple fingers may be affected. The condition is painless, but can prevent the patient from using his hands adequately. Treatment options can include splinting, physical therapy, injections, or fasciotomy.
