What You Can Expect in 2013

Rumors of ICD-10's death have been greatly exaggerated. It isn't even 2012 yet, but the CPT® Editorial Committee is already looking ahead to 2013. The group is examining which codes to revise, delete, and introduce in the future, and we've got a taste of what 2013 could hold for you from both a CPT® and an ICD-10 standpoint. The CPT® Editorial Committee will continue to monitor which code sections require revisions, but intends to offer special focus to psychiatry services, molecular pathology, and moderate sedation in 2013, said Peter A. Hollmann, MD, chair of the CPT® Editorial Panel, during the CPT® 2012 Annual Symposium in Chicago on Nov. 16.
