Medicare Compliance & Reimbursement

Industry Notes:

Weigh in on 2024 MVP Candidates By Feb. 8

If you want to weigh in on possible candidates for the 2024 Merit-Based Incentive Payment System Value Pathways (MVPs), you need to submit your comments by Feb. 8.

Reminder: The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) added MVPs as a reporting option in the Quality Payment Program (QPP) for performance year 2023. MVPs “offer clinicians a subset of measures and activities relevant to a specialty or medical condition,” reminds CMS in its QPP resources. “MVPs offer more meaningful groupings of measures and activities, to provide a more connected assessment of the quality of care.”

The 2024 MVP candidates include the five following choices:

  • Quality Care in Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder
  • Prevention and Treatment of Infectious Disorders Including Hepatitis C and HIV
  • Musculoskeletal Care and Rehabilitative Support
  • Quality Care for Otolaryngology
  • Focusing on Women’s Health

Timeline: CMS will accept feedback through Feb. 8 via email at PIMMSMVPSupport@gdit.com. The agency advises that the subject line should reference “2024 MVP Candidate Feedback.”
