Voice Your Opinion — CMS Innovation Center RFI Closes Nov. 20
The CMS Innovation Center (CMMI) focuses on cutting-edge programs that support the engagement of patients, improve coordination of care, and promote Medicare savings. But despite the major impact CMMI currently has on the Quality Payment Program's higher-level payment system, Advanced Alternative Payment Models, a Request for Information went out on Sept. 20 to decide the future of the program. "Through informal Request for Information (RFI) the CMS Innovation Center (Innovation Center) is seeking your feedback on a new direction to promote patient-centered care and test market-driven reforms that empower beneficiaries as consumers, provide price transparency, increase choices and competition to drive quality, reduce costs, and improve outcomes," said CMS in a release on the RFI. Interested parties are encouraged to address their concerns and offer their opinions on CMMI. "The Innovation Center welcomes stakeholder input on the ideas included here, on additional ideas and concepts, and on the future direction of the Innovation Center," CMS stated.
