With changes aplenty to the Quality Payment Program (QPP) in the years ahead, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Medicare intends to archive materials from past performance years (PY). Details: “We’re retiring webpages, resources, webinars, and reports from performance years 2017-2020 to be in alignment with best practices in information technology data storage and reduced security risk by having less data publicly available,” says the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in a May 18 alert. “The information being archived is no longer applicable since the payment year associated with the 2020 performance year ended December 31, 2022. Additionally, these updates will improve user experience; removing outdated materials will allow users to more easily find current, applicable information,” CMS adds. QPP webpages, resources, and rules will still be available, but no longer on the landing page or in the QPP library. You’ll still be able to access rulemaking via the Federal Register, webpages through the QPP overview page, and reports on the QPP website after signing into your account.
