Medicare Compliance & Reimbursement

Industry Notes:

2019 QPP Performance Data Is Now Live on Medicare Care Compare

If you participated in the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) for Performance Year (PY) 2019, your quality data is now available for other providers and consumers to peruse on Medicare Care Compare.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) updated PY 2019 Quality Payment Program (QPP) data for both MIPS clinicians as well as Advanced Alternative Payment Model (APM) participants, indicates an agency alert. “Information for doctors, clinicians, groups, and Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs)” was added “to the Doctors and Clinicians section of Medicare Care Compare and in the Provider Data Catalog (PDC)” on June 17, CMS says.

Reminder: CMS retired the original eight separate Compare sites back in December, combining them into the Medicare Care Compare option (see Medicare Compliance & Reimbursement, Vol. 46, No. 23).

“Performance information for doctors and clinicians is displayed using measure-level star ratings, percent performance scores, and checkmarks,” reminds CMS guidance.
