As the feds continue to turn up the heat on Medicare fraudsters, more serious indictments and punishments come down the pike. One New Jersey provider got caught in the fire. Over 150,000 times, Dr. Anthony J. Enrico billed for services that "were performed at his direction by individuals who lacked the necessary training and certifications, resulting in him fraudulently obtaining approximately $3 million from Medicare and private insurers," stated a Department of Justice (DOJ) release on the case. The fraudulent physical therapy occurred from 2007 to 2016. The physician will also serve 36 months in prison, related US Attorney Craig Carpenito in the release.
