If you’ve seen your Medicare pay dwindling over the past few years, this may have been a contributing factor. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) hasn’t proposed or finalized a conversion factor (CF) increase in the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (MPFS) since calendar year (CY) 2020. For CYs’ 2021, 2022, and 2023, Congress stepped in with last-minute legislation to circumvent the cuts, but even its intervention was miniscule. Here’s a CF breakdown from CY 2019 to CY 2023:
