The following bills were introduced in the House:

HR. 1166. A bill to amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to improve the quality of care in skilled nursing facilities under the Medicare program. Introduced March 8 by Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-OH), referred to the Committee on Ways and Means and the Committee on Energy and Commerce.

HR. 1228. A bill to amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to reduce the work hours and increase the supervision of resident physicians to ensure the safety of patients and resident-physicians themselves. Introduced March 10 by Rep. John Conyers (D-MI), referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce and the Committee on Ways and Means. Bills introduced in the Senate:

S. 566. A bill to continue state coverage of Medicaid prescription drug coverage to Medicare dual eligible beneficiaries for six months, while still allowing the Medicare Part D benefit to be implemented as scheduled. Introduced March 8 by Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-WV), referred to the Committee on Finance.

S. 581. A bill to contain the costs of the Medicare prescription drug program under Part D of title XVIII of the Social Security Act. Introduced March 9 by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), referred to the Committee on Finance.
