A bill to amend Part D of title XVIII of the Social Security Act to condition the payment of employer prescription drug subsidies on the maintenance of current prescription drug benefits. A bill to amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to provide whistleblower protection to employees of clinical laboratories who furnish services under the Medicare program. Introduced Feb. 9 by Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD), referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce and the Committee on Ways and Means. H.R. 709. A bill to amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to clarify the right of Medicare beneficiaries to enter into private contracts with physicians and other health care professionals for the provision of health services for which no payment is sought under the Medicare program. Introduced Feb. 9 by Rep. Sam Johnson (R-TX), referred to the Committee on Ways and Means and the Committee on Energy and Commerce. H.R. 712. A bill to amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to exclude coverage of drugs prescribed for the treatment of impotence under the Medicare program. Introduced Feb. 9 by Rep. Steve King (R-IA), referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce and the Committee on Ways and Means.
