The following bills were introduced in the House:

H.R. 467. A bill to amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to provide Medicare beneficiaries with access to geriatric assessment and chronic care maintenance. Introduced Feb. 1 by Rep. Gene Green (D-TX), referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce and the Committee on Ways and Means.

H.R. 563. A bill to amend Part D of the title XVIII of the Social Security Act to require the Secretary of Health and Human Services to negotiate and disclose lowest possible prices for prescription drug prices for Medicare beneficiaries, and with respect to the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, to provide waivers that permit such beneficiaries to import prescription drugs from Canada. Introduced Feb. 2 by Rep. Stephen Lynch (D-MA), referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce and the Committee on Ways and Means.

S. 222. A bill to amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to stabilize the amount of the Medicare Part B premium. Introduced Jan. 31 by Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), referred to the Committee on Finance.

S. 236. A bill to amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to clarify the treatment of payment under the Medicare program for clinical laboratory tests furnished by critical access hospitals. Introduced Feb. 1 by Sen. Ben Nelson (D-NE), referred to the Committee on Finance.

S. 239. A bill to reduce the costs of prescription drugs for Medicare beneficiaries. Introduced Feb. 1 by Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-ME), referred to the Committee on Finance.

S. 277. A bill to amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to provide for direct access to audiologists for Medicare beneficiaries. Introduced Feb. 2 by Sen. Tim Johnson (D-SD), referred to the Committee on Finance.
