Mr. K has hemiplegia secondary to a CVA. He receives extensive assistance in bed mobility transfer, dressing, toilet use, personal hygiene and eating.
He is totally dependent in locomotion (wheelchair). Whenever he has tried to do more for himself, he has experienced chest pain and shortness of breath. Both Mr. K and direct care staff believe that he is involved in self-care as much as he is physically able.
