The Federal Bureau of Investigation and state attorney general's office have joined the state ethics commission in investigating allegations that Kentucky's governor arranged to give a nursing home breaks on inspections in exchange for having sex with the owner. The office of Gov. Paul Patton (D) and at least three state agencies have been ordered to turn over various documents to the commission, including phone and state inspection records, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal. Meanwhile, criminal investigators have interviewed Patton, who denies the charges. The uproar began after nursing home owner sued Patton for sexual harassment, claiming that state inspectors targeted her facility after she ended their sexual relationship.
