The latest guidance from CMS on F411 was issued in 2009, the “Updated Guidance to Surveyors for 42 CFR 483.65 [Federal tag F441 — Infection Control).” Even then, the feds were pushing surveyors to investigate the appropriateness and effectiveness of antibiotics for residents receiving antibiotics, notes the Wisconsin coalition.
