Nursing home reformers are adding themselves to the roster of organizations posting information about you online. California Advocates for Nursing Home Reform has launched a new Web site, www. nursinghomeguide. org.
The site provides consumers with information on each of the state’s facilities, including details of deficiency citations and fines arising from annual state inspections, along with inspectors’ narratives. Some nursing home operators object to the inclusion of the number of complaints against a facility, including those that go unsubstantiated, the Contra Costa Times reports.
Listing complaints not supported with evidence is misleading, argues Kelly Queale, spokesperson for the California Association of Health Facilities.
