Clinical Developments BROCCOLI KILLS ULCER-CAUSING BACTERIA

Here’s a reason to dish up the broccoli casseroles at your facility. A study published by Johns Hopkins researchers in the May 28 Proceedings of the National Academy of Science suggests that the
sulforaphane found in broccoli kills Helicobacter pylori, the bacteria believed to cause most stomach ulcers. Even brief exposure to sulforaphane proved deadly to the bacteria, including  ntibioticresistant forms. Complementary research on mice also shows that sulforophane inhibits gastric tumors in mice.
