Catch IJ Citations Before They Make The CMS 2567

They say prevention is the best medicine so do everything you can to catch an immediate jeopardy citation before it hits the statement of deficiencies (CMS 2567).

If you feel like the facility is going to be cited for IJ, immediately contact either the state or region and ensure that you understand the surveyors concerns, suggests Washington attorney Michael Cook. Present additional evidence or information that might explain or ameliorate the problem, if you have it, he adds. But make clear that you are correcting any problem immediately and that you take the situation very seriously.
