Don’t sweat it if you didn’t get Notices of Election filed within the new CR 8877 deadlines before Oct. 1. The five-day deadline only applied to patients admitted Oct. 1 and later, clarified HHH Medicare Administrative Contractor CGS in a recent set of frequently asked questions about the transmittal that contains new NOE and Notice of Termination/Revocation submission deadlines, diagnosis code prohibitions, and more.
“The 5-day timely filing of the NOE applies to any new hospice admission that occurs on/after October 1, 2014,” CGS says in one of the 34 new Q&As. “In addition, the 5-day timely filing of the NOTR applies to any live discharge/revocation that occurs on/after October 1, 2014.”
