The unfavorable recommendation is now official.
As expected, the Medicare Payment Advisory Commission has voted to recommend a 2-percent payment reduction for hospices and a 5-percent pay cut for home health agencies in 2020. MedPAC approved the measures in a Jan. 17 meeting in Washington, D.C.
The influential advisory body to Congress discussed the cut recommendations in a December meeting (see Eli’s Hospice Insider, Vol. 12, No. 2). The recommendations will appear in MedPAC’s annual March report to Congress.
