Long-term care giant Kindred Healthcare Inc. is aiming to increase its presence in the wider post-acute care market.
Louisville, Ky.-based Kindred is buying two home health and hospice companies in Texas for undisclosed terms, it says in a release. Kindred’s subsidiary has signed a definitive agreement to acquire QStaff Home Healthcare and Advanced Care Hospice in Houston. QStaff has annual revenues of $2 million, Kindred says.
Kindred is also buying Caring Hearts Home Health with locations in Big Spring and Odessa. Caring Hearts has about $1.6 million in annual revenues.
“Kindred at Home, through its affiliate IntegraCare, currently provides Home Health or Hospice services in 46 cities in Texas, including the Company’s Dallas Integrated Care Market,” the company says.
“These projects … allow us to continue the expansion of our continuum of post-acute services where we see demand for our services,” Kindred CEO Paul Diaz says in the release. “We are excited about the opportunity to expand our growing home health and hospice business and better Continue the Care for our patients throughout a post-acute episode as part of our Integrated Care Market strategy.”
