Want to find out more about the Hospice Item Set CMS will require hospice providers to use starting in July? The agency has issued a new one-page fact sheet about the data collection tool.
Timeline: “Hospices will have 14 days from admission to complete HIS-Admission records and 7 days from discharge to complete HIS-Discharge records,” the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid explains. But hospices will have 30 days from admission and discharge to submit the data.
Watch for: CMS plans to hold training on the HIS in February.
