Jan. 1 is looming large for hospices that must tackle payment reform commencing on that date. But Feb. 1 is important for hospices too.
Hospices can calculate their 2015 aggregate cap and any possible overpayments using information obtained from Medicare’s EIDM system starting Feb. 1, points out The Health Law Group in Morgantown, W.Va. in its newsletter. “If you expect a Cap liability for the 2015 Cap Year, you should consider securing the beneficiary count and payments through EIDM at the earliest possible date to minimize the amount required to be paid on or before March 31, 2016,” the accounting and consulting firm recommends. But “you cannot use information secured on or before January 31, 2016.”
