Hospice cap reductions may be in the public eye thanks to a newly finalized Medicare Payment Advisory Commission recommendation, but cap reporting is on as usual. “The 2021 Self-Determined Caps are due no later than February 28, 2022,” HHH Medicare Administrative Contractor CGS says in a recent message to providers. “If the self-determined cap is not received within 7 days of the above due date, a Past Due letter will be issued, and payments will be suspended,” the MAC warns. Plus: “If CGS does not pay your agency’s Medicare claims, we are not responsible for the hospice cap work for your agency,” the MAC highlights. “The MAC that pays your claims is [to] whom you need to submit your SD cap and ask any questions you have.”
