Ambercare has acquired Gila Regional Medical Center’s Home Health and Hospice provider numbers, both located in Silver City, N.M., the 20-year-old home care provider says in a release. Two locations in Silver City and Lordsburg will serve residents in Hidalgo, Grant and Luna counties.
GRMC shut down its home care and hospice programs in October after they were contributing to the hospital system’s deficit, reports the Silver City Sun-News. Ambercare is seeing 10 hospice patients and 35 home health patients in both locations, according to the newspaper.
Ambercare expects to employ around 20 people, down from the 40 employed by GMRC.
