If you submitted a request for reconsideration on your Hospice Quality Reporting Program status but haven’t heard back, you should be bugging CMS about it.
Reminder: On June 30, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services mailed notifications to all hospices that were determined to be out of compliance with the HQRP requirements. That non-compliance reduces your Medicare rates by 2 percent effective Oct. 1, for the 2015 fiscal year.
CMS gave hospices a chance to request a reconsideration of the determination, CMS notes on its HQRP website. CMS completed its review of the requests and mailed notification letters Sept. 23, the agency says. If you haven’t received the letter yet, you now “may contact our reconsiderations help desk for assistance,” CMS says. “Please send your inquiries to: HospiceQRP Reconsiderations@cms.hhs.gov.”
