Hospital-based hospices may have a tough time complying with CMS’s proposed deadline for cost report changes. CMS wants changes to be retroactive to cost reporting years beginning on or after Oct. 1, 2014. “We believe that CMS should give hospital-based hospice programs one year from publication of the final changes to meet the substantial new requirements,” says the National Association for Home Care & Hospice.
